Today’s Coral Basin drop for the Nintendo Switch 2 delivered the big, splashy bits everyone expected—an undersea town, new Water-type Pokémon, nautical furniture, and the Dive move unlocked for all. But tucked into update 2.0 were a couple of tiny, unannounced tweaks players immediately loved. They don’t change the story, but they do make life way less annoying.
Suicune finally does the whole “walk on water” thing
Veteran fans know Suicune’s vibe is literally gliding across waves. Until this patch, your Suicune would loyally follow you everywhere—until you hit the water, at which point it would awkwardly get stuck on land. Now it actually runs across the surface when following you, which is exactly what its cinematic strut promised. It’s pure fan service and oddly delightful to watch.
Graveler keeps rolling and gobbling materials
If you like turning into Graveler to smash cubes for building, here’s a quality-of-life win: you can now use Absorber while remaining in Graveler form. That means you roll, smash, and immediately swallow the loot without flipping back to your normal form to collect materials. Big construction projects will finish faster and with fewer shape-shift interruptions.
Neither of these is revolutionary, but they smooth out little frustrations that add up during long play sessions. Nintendo didn’t advertise them, but players noticed—and appreciated—the improvements. The Feebas event starts on the 13th, so if you’re diving back in, keep an eye out for any other stealthy surprises. Spotted anything else neat in 2.0?
