Quickie TL;DR
New week, new downloads. Switch and Switch 2 players get big-ticket stuff (yes, Minecraft with a shiny visual upgrade), a cute-as-a-button Sanrio party game, some retro Game Boy classics, seasonal spooky picks, and a pile of indie releases to browse while you avoid real-life responsibilities.
Headliner: Minecraft (Nintendo Switch 2)
Minecraft gets a Switch 2 polish — brighter visuals, a Super Mario-themed mash-up full of themed music and skins, and an easy save transfer from the Switch version. If you own the digital Switch edition and fire it up on a Switch 2 during the upgrade window, you may get a discounted invitation to step up to the Ultimate Collection. Build, survive, and make questionable architectural choices with friends, locally or online.
Party Time: Hello Kitty Party Land
Sanrio fans, assemble. Hello Kitty Party Land is a chill, multiplayer party game with over 140 characters, 40-plus minigames and character customisation. It’s designed to be accessible for solo play as well as zany local or online parties — basically perfect for demolishing friendships gently.
Retro Corner: Game Boy Classics on Switch Online
Three bite-sized blasts from the past are available for Nintendo Switch Online members:
Avenging Spirit — A ghostly action game where you possess foes, muscle through six stages, and rescue your kidnapped love interest in a surprisingly heart-on-sleeve tale of post-mortem romance.
Mole Mania — Puzzle platforming with digging, pushing and cabbage-related stakes. Two-player versus mode adds replayability for competitive diggers.
Revenge of the ’Gator — Pinball-ish action with flippers, targets and stages that punish your sloppy shots. Rack up high scores or risk letting the gator end your run.
Digital Spotlight: Spooky Picks and Survival Horrors
It’s Halloween season, so Nintendo is shoving some eerie options onto the virtual shelf: big-name Resident Evil releases, demonic puzzle-fests, detective-style mystery games, and the family-friendly Luigi’s Mansion trio (including the original for Expansion Pack holders). Ideal for anyone who enjoys being scared while still holding a controller.
Pre-orders Worth Noting
Stellar Blade Complete Edition — Become EVE and punch your way through a sci-fi conspiracy with cinematic combat, customization, and motion-control bonuses for the tiny non-combat moments. Launches on Switch 2 on Nov. 5.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Encore Edition — Play Star-Lord and pals with decisions that shape the story, plus some extra 80s glam-rock outfits for maximum dramatic flair. Also due Nov. 5 on Switch 2.
Nintendo Music
ARMS soundtrack is now on the Nintendo Music service for your training montage needs. Also on the service: tunes from Pokémon Legends: Z-A to level up your playlist vibes.
Events & Activities
October events and in-game Halloween happenings are live — seasonal challenges, spooky DLC shenanigans, and themed sales to keep you busy until candy runs out.
eShop Sale: Screaming Deals
A limited-time Screaming Deals sale is running through Oct. 31. If you enjoy cheap thrills and cheaper games, now’s the time to window-shop, splurge, or both.

Community Notes
User tidbits from the comment box: one reader quipped that the Godzilla game is morphing into Godzilla movie hype next week, and another mentioned a Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake preinstall quietly happening — apparently your console might be getting things ready while you’re asleep.
