Welcome to Heartopia Events (aka the town’s chaotic hobby hour)
Heartopia’s Events are short, social mini-games built for silliness, sweet rewards, and the occasional competitive elbow. They hand out rare crafting bits, gacha pods, hobby progress, and coins — if you know where to look (and don’t host every run yourself). Here’s the lowdown on when things unlock, how to save gold, and a friendly tour of every Event you’ll run into.
When Events Unlock
Everything starts locked. To get any Events at all, you need to hit Developer’s Guild Level 7 — that’s the moment the game goes, “Okay, now let’s party.” At Level 7 you unlock the first three town Events. From Level 8 onward, more Events appear, but some of those are gated behind hobby unlocks like Insect Catching or Bird Watching.
Hosting vs Joining: Money, money, money
Players usually kick off Events, but hosting isn’t free. The first time you start an Event that week, it costs 2,000 gold. Do it again with the same Event during the same week and the price jumps (typical next price is 3,000 gold and keeps rising). Moral: unless you’re fabulously wealthy or need a specific time, hop into other people’s runs — cheaper and less bragging needed.
Town (NPC) Events — free runs you should stalk
Each day an NPC might host a free town Event during a short window (often around 30 minutes or a few timed minutes depending on the Event). When an NPC starts something, anyone who has that Event unlocked can join without paying. These are excellent for farming materials and rewards on the cheap — mark the map and check daily.
How to check free Event times
Tap an Event icon on the map and read the small text in the popup. It will tell you when the NPC plans to host the next free run. Set a reminder, put on a hat, and go join the free fiesta.
All Events — the practical guide
Below are the Events you’ll encounter, where they happen, what they want you to do, and a few cheeky tips so you don’t faceplant emotionally or physically.
Sea Fishing
Location: Fishing Village boats. Unlock: Developer’s Guild Level 7. What to do: Talk to Bill by the boats to start. Players split between two boats, then head into deeper water on a timer. Goal: Personal goal is usually to catch about five fish; the group target tends to be around thirty total catches. Rewards include Surprise Gacha Pods and fishy bragging rights. Pro tip: board the right boat, aim for quantity, and keep an eye on the timer—Bill runs free Town Events for this occasionally.
Bubble Machine Challenge
Location: Purple Light Beach inflatable arena. Unlock: Developer’s Guild Level 7. What to do: Speak with the Beach Surfer to begin. Two timed rounds of bubble-popping madness await: pop green and orange bubbles freely, but when bubbles flash red they’re about to vanish — pop those fast. Personal target tends to be around six points; the group needs roughly thirty. This Event doesn’t require any hobby, so if you’re Level 7+, you’re in.
Yellow Duck Jump Puzzle
Location: Purple Light Beach (the giant rubber duck). Unlock: Developer’s Guild Level 7. What to do: Talk to Harry at the duck to launch a vertical obstacle course. There are easier green routes and trickier pink routes; the course has four platform buttons that help others when you stand on them. Personal goal: complete two routes; group goal: about eight completions total. Falling is encouraged as learning — you can retry while the timer ticks.
Bait the Insects
Location: Onsen Mountain and Crater Lake. Unlock: Developer’s Guild Level 8 plus the Insect Catching hobby. What to do: Begin at the baiting device near the lake. This is a two-part rush: three minutes in the first zone to grab insects, then a short travel window to Crater Lake for another three-minute round. Personal goal: usually around ten insects; group goal: around fifty. Bring stamina-boosting food and a plan — Naniwa sometimes runs free Town Events for this on select times.
Nest of Hundreds
Location: Eastern Fishing Village by the fountain. Unlock: Developer’s Guild Level 8 plus the Bird Watching hobby. What to do: Use binoculars at the bird-calling device to find and photograph rare birds. Progress is scored in star points (you collect Info Cards worth stars rather than a simple tally). Personal objective: accumulate roughly 30 stars; group objective: around 150 combined. Idle birds are easy snaps, but active or performing birds award more stars — patience and timing pay off.
Tea Party Puzzle
Location: Your home. Unlock: available at any level (host from your house). What to do: Invite pals over for a chill social Event. There are no competitive targets — just puzzles, party poppers, snacks, and pets. It’s a cozy break from the hustle-and-grind Events and still counts for Event participation.
Quick tips and final thoughts
– If you want efficiency, join NPC-hosted Town Events or other players’ runs instead of always paying to host. It’s the smart, thrifty, friend-making move.
– Check the map popups for NPC schedules and be ready during those short free windows.
– Prep for hobby-linked Events: unlock the hobby, bring the right consumables (stamina foods for insect runs), and know whether the Event requires binoculars, baits, or a brave jump onto a rubber duck.
– Have fun. Heartopia rewards connection and chaos in roughly equal measure.
