Quick sales snapshot
Capcom just announced that Requiem has crossed the 6 million units mark worldwide — and it did so faster than any other game in the series. The title launched on 27 February 2026 and blasted past 5 million in its first week, then pulled another million in the following couple of weeks. Momentum slowed a bit after the initial rush, but people are still buying it in steady numbers.
How it stacks up in the series
Right now Requiem sits comfortably in the top ten of Resident Evil sales, ranking eighth overall. To give you a frame of reference, it’s between Resident Evil 5 at around 10 million and the Resident Evil remake at roughly 5.1 million copies sold.
What’s coming next for the game
Director Koshi Nakanishi has confirmed that a story expansion is in the works, though details are being kept under wraps for now. Players can also expect a photo mode to be added soon, plus a mysterious minigame slated for May — fingers crossed it’s something like a Mercenaries-style challenge, but we’ll see.
Capcom’s broader plans
Capcom isn’t slowing down. On 17 April 2026 the studio plans to release Pragmata on Switch 2 as well as PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. There’s a free demo available now if you want to poke at it before committing, and early hands-on impressions have been positive, suggesting the game could be something special.
Merch and tiny perks
For players sticking with Requiem, Capcom also has some merch in the pipeline: Grace and Leon amiibo are scheduled for 30 July 2025 and will unlock cosmetic weapon skins in-game. So yes, they’re more about looks than blockbuster cutscenes.
Bottom line
Six million copies is no small feat, and Requiem’s momentum shows fans are still excited about the franchise. Expect more updates, a possible DLC story, and a smattering of goodies — plus whatever weird minigame Capcom surprises us with next.
