Welcome to the swampy, punch-happy scavenger hunt! In the End of Zoe DLC for Resident Evil 7 you play as Joe Baker and smash your way through murky areas looking for effigies that boost your punching power. Boxer Effigies give +1% punch damage each, Champion Effigies give +5% each. There are 13 total—collect enough and you’ll be knocking molded nightmares into next Tuesday.
Below I’ve broken everything down into tidy little stop-and-grab steps. No pictures, no scripts, just directions and a little snark to keep you awake between alligator ambushes.
Effigy 1 — Boxer
Right after that first breakable door in the swamps, look left for a yellow barrel sitting just beyond. Beat up the two Molded guarding the doorway, punch through, and the Boxer Effigy is waiting on top of the barrel—plus a bit of Chem Fluid if you like crafting while you brawl.
Effigy 2 — Boxer
When you’re carrying Zoe through the Base area there’s a pool with a rock sticking out. Hop over and check the rock in the water—an effigy chillaxing on top of it is the second Boxer.
Effigy 3 — Boxer
In Medical Storage, after you handle the agile Molded and bust through another breakable door, go upstairs. Near the save point there’s a barrel on the left—peek on top and claim your Boxer Effigy.
Effigy 4 — Boxer
Still in the Base: after the first hullabaloo with the swamp monster, drop off the dock and slip into the small shed on the right. Inside, an effigy is mounted on the wall to the right above a table (and above a tape recorder if you like saving in perilous places).
Effigy 5 — Boxer
Climb onto the Paddle Boat and head to the main deck roof (3F). Walk toward the bridge staircase, but instead of going up, take the metal walkway to the left and scope the broken edge of the roof—your Boxer Effigy is lounging on the left-hand side.
Effigy 6 — Champion
Below deck the Molded will try to make your life spicy. Once you clear the first below-deck level and drop to the second, enter the first room on that sublevel. Loot the crate, drop into the air duct, follow it, and you’ll emerge beside a Champion Effigy on Paddle Boat 1F.
Effigy 7 — Boxer
Back on Paddle Boat 1F: exit the air duct into a room with a couple of Molded and a breakable door. After you go through and climb the ladder on the left, crouch at the top and glance right—there’s a Boxer Effigy leaning on the bottom shelf behind some propane tanks.
Effigy 8 — Champion
Outside the boat in Quarantine Area 1 (the watery path under a shack), check the fridge inside the shack. That fridge hides a Champion Effigy—just be warned, you’ll want a throwing spear for the inevitable alligator greeting before you plunge in.
Effigy 9 — Champion
In Quarantine Area 2 you’ll follow dilapidated walkways and see three Molded. Near the start of this section, after you climb the ramp and follow the left-hand walkway, there’s a visible tree holding a Champion Effigy—grab it and try not to get eaten.
Effigy 10 — Boxer
After leaving Quarantine Area 2 and entering the Abandoned Church zone, there’s a shed on the left at the start of the church path. Inside the shed (and near another tape recorder) you’ll find a Boxer Effigy waiting patiently for your sweaty mitts.
Effigy 11 — Boxer
Move up toward the staired entrance to the Abandoned Church. On the right-hand side of the stairs there’s an effigy sitting where you’d least expect it—right beside the steps. Classic hidden-in-plain-sight move.
Effigy 12 — Champion
In the Old House segment (the same double-door area Ethan uses in the main story), go through into the room with the broken floor. Turn right in that room and you’ll spot a Champion Effigy pinned against a barred door—like a tiny, non-hostile wrestling champion.
Effigy 13 — Boxer
The final effigy appears just after you exit the Old House. Walk the mesh-fenced walkway and check the right-hand side of the fence—your last Boxer Effigy is attached there, bringing your total up to 13 and your fists closer to ludicrous levels.
Quick tips before you go: equip a throwing spear for gator-heavy water areas, check barrels and crates (they love hiding things), and don’t forget to smash those breakable doors—effigies are shy, they rarely come out on their own. Happy punching!
