Nintendo Switch Mobile App 3.2.0 Update: New Social Features & iOS Enhancements

Nintendo Switch Mobile App — Version 3.2.0 Patch Notes

Quick TL;DR

Nintendo rolled out version 3.2.0 of the Switch mobile app on 27 November 2025. It tidies up a few bugs, bumps the minimum iOS requirement, and adds some handy social niceties like showing what friends are playing and letting you send friend requests from GameChat.

Version and compatibility

Version: 3.2.0 (released 27th Nov 2025). Heads up: the app now requires iOS 16 or newer. If your phone is stuck on an older OS, this update won’t run — consider that your gentle nudge to finally update or upgrade.

What’s new — the good stuff

Friend notifications now include the name of the game or software your buddy is using when they come online, so you’ll know instantly whether to pounce on a match or keep scrolling memes.

You can now send friend requests to people you spoke with in a GameChat session — perfect for turning that one awkward co-op victory into a lasting friendship (or at least another match request).

From the details view of a screenshot or clip, you can copy the game’s hashtags. Great for when you want to brag online without typing everything manually.

iPhone users can create a dedicated “Nintendo Switch App” album inside the iOS Photos app. It’s off by default — toggle it on from this app’s Settings if you want your screenshots to behave and stop scattering across Camera Roll chaos.

Bug fixes and polish

They fixed a gremlin that sometimes shuffled the order of screenshots and videos when downloading several at once, so your highlights should stay in the right sequence now.

There are also other minor bug fixes and general tidying up under the hood — the usual background elbow grease to keep things smooth.

Why bother updating?

If you like staying socially connected while gaming (or hate dealing with mixed-up screenshot albums), this update actually makes life easier. Plus, if you ever want to use the new iOS photo album feature, you’ll need iOS 16 anyway.

Extra note

Separately, Nintendo has been testing a new storefront app in some regions for both Android and iOS. If you spot it, it’s not a glitch — it’s part of Nintendo trying out new ways to shop for games and content.

All in all: small but useful tweaks, a couple of quality-of-life improvements, and a reminder from Nintendo to keep your phone software up to date. Happy gaming (and screenshot-organizing)!
