Guilty Gear Strive Switch Edition Update & DLC Launches This December

Guilty Gear Strive Switch Edition Update and DLC Finally Arrives This December

Good news for Switch players

After months of waiting and a few frustrated button mashes, Guilty Gear -Strive- Nintendo Switch Edition is finally getting the long-awaited update and new DLC. The patch, including Season 4 characters and ranked matches, is scheduled to land on 18 December 2025.

What’s coming in the update

The December drop brings the Season 4 fighters to the Switch roster — yes, that includes Venom, Unika, and Lucy (the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners cameo you didn’t know you needed). The update also adds ranked matchmaking, so your trash talk now has consequences.

Why it was late (short version)

The team behind the port ran into extra issues during testing, so the release slipped from its original autumn target. The developers apologized for the delay and said they’ve been polishing things to avoid a bumpy online experience. Translation: they fixed annoying bugs so you can blame your opponent instead of the game.

Where Switch Strive stands now

Right now the Switch base game ships with 28 playable characters and includes content from the first three seasons. This update brings Switch in line with the newer content that other platforms have already been enjoying.

Final note

Mark your calendars for 18 December 2025. When the patch drops we’ll shout about it again — probably in all caps and with too many emojis. Until then, warm up those combos and practice your victory pose.
