First impressions
We fired up Fallout 4’s Anniversary Edition on Switch 2 and spent about a dozen minutes poking around. You get the opening area, a bit of free-roaming, some firefights, and even a cutscene or two — basically a sampler platter of post-apocalyptic tomfoolery.
What’s bundled in (so you don’t ask later)
This edition throws in all the official add-ons — Automatron, Far Harbor, Nuka-World, and the three Workshop packs — plus over 150 pieces from the Creation Club. Translation: there’s enough content to lose weeks, or at least a really long Sunday.
How it looks and runs
Visually, it’s got that charmingly ancient Fallout aesthetic: not exactly cutting-edge, but still readable and characterful. Performance-wise the build we watched behaved itself — no obvious stutters or catastrophic glitches — which feels like a relief after some previously rocky Switch 2 ports.
Should you care?
If you missed Fallout 4 back in the day or fancy revisiting your settlement hoarding, this is a solid excuse. The Anniversary Edition adds plenty of extras, and the Switch 2 version seems competent enough to enjoy on the go or docked.
Where to get it (if you must)
It’s available digitally on the Switch eShop for around £52.99 / $59.99. If you prefer the tactile joy of a boxed copy with a code, a physical version lands on shelves on April 28.
Final note
We’ll have a full review soon with more nitpicky testing, so stay tuned. Until then, keep your Pip-Boy charged and prepare for more irradiated shenanigans.
