Danganronpa Celebrates 10 Million Sales Milestone — Chaos Continues!

Danganronpa Hits 10 Million Sales — Chaos For Everyone

A wild milestone

Spike Chunsoft just dropped the mic: the Danganronpa franchise has shipped over 10 million copies around the globe. Not bad for a series that started as a PSP oddball back in late 2010 and grew into a full-blown pop-culture spectacle.

How it got here

The journey began in Japan on November 25, 2010, and since then the franchise has spawned multiple mainline releases, ports, and a couple of spin-offs. Each new release helped pull more players into its blend of murder-mystery drama, stylish visuals, and delightfully chaotic storytelling.

What’s new — and what’s next

The most recent release of note was Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp on Nintendo Switch back in 2021. Fans won’t have to wait forever for another treat: an enhanced relaunch called Danganronpa 2×2 is slated for Switch and Switch 2 in 2026. Expect the familiar cast and plot you love, but with an extra alternate route and spruced-up visuals to make it feel fresh.

Kodaka’s whirlwind year

Series creator Kazutaka Kodaka keeps busy. Earlier this year he launched The Hundred Line – Last Defense Academy, which critics liked, and followed up with SHUTEN ORDER, a title that divided opinion a bit more. The guy’s clearly not shy about trying new things.
