Quick recap
When the Switch 2 landed in June, Nintendo quietly offered free upgrades for about a dozen existing Switch games. Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker was one of the lucky few, receiving tweaks to take advantage of the new hardware.
What’s in version 1.4.1?
Nintendo has just rolled out version 1.4.1. The official note is delightfully vague — it says “several issues have been addressed to improve the overall gameplay experience.” Translation: small bug fixes and polish. The earlier Switch 2 upgrade already boosted visuals, added HDR support, and enabled GameShare, so this patch looks like the tidy-up after that bigger makeover.
How to update
If your game doesn’t auto-update, don’t panic or hit any mysterious buttons — just highlight the Captain Toad tile on your console’s home screen and choose the update option. If Nintendo posts more specific patch details later, we’ll shout about it from the digital rooftops.
Other games that got Switch 2 upgrades
Captain Toad wasn’t the only one to get a free Switch 2 spruce-up. Titles such as ARMS, Big Brain Academy, Clubhouse Games, Game Builder Garage, New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom and Zelda: Link’s Awakening also received upgrades. Super Mario Odyssey got special treatment, and Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury received a small patch in October too.
Final thoughts
In short: version 1.4.1 is a modest polish pass — nothing dramatic, but welcome if you like your puzzle-platformer as tidy as Toad’s backpack. We’ll update you if anything juicier is revealed.
