No demo… at least not right now
Good news: the Switch 2 is building a neat little demo library. Bad news for impatient survival-horror fans: Capcom says there’s currently no plan to put a Resident Evil Requiem demo on digital stores. The team’s priority is finishing and polishing the full game, so they’re keeping their heads down rather than handing out early slices.
Polish over freebies
According to the producer, the development crew is focused on delivering a high-quality product, not on rolling out a public demo. In plain terms: they’re busy squashing bugs and tuning scares, and a demo isn’t on the agenda while that work gets done.
Where people have played it
If you wanted a sneak peek, Requiem has been shown at events like the Tokyo Game Show, where attendees got hands-on time. That’s consistent with Capcom’s habit of occasionally offering event demos or putting out demos for other series on the Switch 2, but a wide digital demo for Requiem isn’t a sure thing right now.
Release details
Resident Evil Requiem is scheduled to launch on multiple platforms, including the Switch 2, on 27 February 2026. If you’re not trying to elbow your way into a convention queue, that’s when the full experience arrives.
