Return to Valoran City

Star Guardian Coming to Legends of Runeterra and League of Legends

League of Legends has announced Return to Valoran City, bringing back the one of the most popular League of Legends Star Guardian parallel universe on July 14th, 2022! The trailer shows icons of League of Legends, Wild Rift, and most importantly, Legends of Runeterra.

The Star Guardian theme and story is heavily based on Sailor Moon: It follows a story of a group of high school students who choose to become cosmic protectors and must battle cosmic enemies threatening the universe. However, they consequently learn of the anguish and perils associated with their newfound roles.

Although it is coming to League on July 14, it makes sense that the corresponding Legends of Runeterra event will likely come with the new expansion on July 20, along with Kai’Sa, just announced by Game Director Dave Guskin:

On the LoR 2022 Roadmap, it was already announced that in July we’d be getting a New PvE and PvP Expansion, Expansion Event Pass (which may not have been named to not spoil what it could be), and Seasonal tournament. The current Pulsefire 2022 event runs until June 29, 2022, 10:00 AM PT.

This will be a huge event for the Riot franchises, and we’re excited to find out what (potentially new) champions will be involved and what cosmetic bling will be released!
