New Expansion ‘A Curious Journey’ Featuring Gnar and Yuumi Comes February 16

The newest Legends of Runeterra expansion is called ‘A Curious Journey’, and it will be released on February 16, alongside Patch 3.2.

The trailer for the new expansion concludes the story arc of Ava, the little yordle scout sent on a mission by Teemo.

The animated short showcases two Runeterra characters that will appear as champion cards in the upcoming release – the primeval yordle Gnar and a magical cat Yuumi. Click on the boxes below to learn more about the teased champions.

Gnar, The Missing Link

Gnar is an excitable yordle whose playful antics can erupt into a toddler’s outrage in an instant, transforming him into a massive beast bent on destruction. Frozen in True Ice for millennia, the curious creature broke free and now hops about a changed world he sees as exotic and wondrous. Delighted by danger, Gnar flings whatever he can at his enemies, be it his bonetooth boomerang… or an uprooted tree.

Yuumi, The Magical Cat

A magical cat from Bandle City, Yuumi was once the familiar of a yordle enchantress, Norra. When her master mysteriously disappeared, Yuumi became the Keeper of Norra’s sentient Book of Thresholds, traveling through portals in its pages to search for her. Yearning for affection, Yuumi seeks friendly companions to partner with on her journey, protecting them with luminous shields and fierce resolve. While Book strives to keep her on task, Yuumi is often drawn to worldly comforts, such as naps and fish. In the end, however, she always returns to her quest to find her friend.

It was also revealed that the expansion will contain a total of 48 cards and will introduce 2 new keywords.

10 cards were spoiled on the very first day, all of them being from Bandle City. They are scattered across several thematic packages – there is a brand new Fae synergy package, a couple of cards playing into familiar Bandle swarm tactics, as well some unique Recall tools.
