LoR Meta Report – Patch 4.3 Week 3 – Best Ladder Decks

Meta Report Patch 4.3 week 3 showcases all the data you need to understand the meta and start your climb.

Legends of Runeterra Meta Report for Patch 4.3 Week 3 is here! The meta continues to evolve as players pick up the best decks to start their climb. The top four decks (Samira Fizz, Karma Sett, Ashe LeBlanc, and Leona Samira) are battling out for the title of the best deck in the meta.

Although many decks are struggling on the ranked ladder, some decks such as Jack Seraphine and Caitlyn Seraphine BC have found their success in the tournament scene. Moreover, in America’s Runeterra Open, the finalists had a similar lineup of Samira Varus, Vayne Quinn Aatrox, and Diana Leona, Kayle.

Sources: The data presented here are from Runeterra.AR and LLor, covering the period from April 11th to April 17th.

Most Successful Archetypes

Tier 1 (Fizz Samira, Karma Sett, Ashe LeBlanc, Samira Leona)

Tier 1 remains the same, with the top four battling it out for first place. However, Ashe LeBlanc is gradually losing its dominant popularity, while Fizz Samira is gaining momentum and is expected to claim the top spot across all ranks.

Tier 2 (Gwen Quinn, Vayne Aatrox, Garen Jarvan IV, Heimerdinger Jayce (SI), Kayn Aatrox, Malphite Taliyah, Maokai Nautilus, Illaoi Jarvan IV, Caitlyn Jayce, Seraphine Jack, Annie Caitlyn, Swain Illaoi, Udyr Galio, Samira Riven Varus, Norra Veigar, Miss Fortune Quinn, Lissandra Taliyah, Jax Ornn, Ekko Jinx (SH), Akshan Varus, Pyke Rek’Sai, Heimerdinger Norra, Senna Veigar, Norra Veigar)

Tier 2 exhibits a lot of diversity, with many decks finding success on the ranked ladder and in tournaments. There are some notable mentions such as Malphite Taliyah, Samira Varus, and Illaoi Jarvan IV, which have recently seen more play and are performing well on the ranked ladder.

Meme Tier

Although Teemo Caitlyn has its fan base and is among the top 15 most-played decks, it has a low win rate and is not recommended for serious climbing. The archetype has an unfavorable matchup table and only has a solid win rate against Maokai Nautilus.

This is an archetype that wants to plant Poison Puffcaps with the help of Teemo and Puffcap Peddler in the opponent’s deck and slowly destroy the opponent’s Nexus. Corina, Mastermind accelerates the process, forcing those traps to activate.

Underplayed and Overplayed Archetypes

In the chart below, I’ve plotted win rates versus play rates for 22 decks to demonstrate which archetypes can be seen as the ‘kings’ in the current meta, and which decks can be labeled as ‘overplayed’ or ‘underplayed’.

The Y-Axis represents the win rate whereas the X-Axis represents the play rate.

Meta Kings: Fizz Samira. The archetype lost some of its popularity in the previous week but has slowly been gaining it back, cementing itself as the best deck in the current meta. It’s currently the most-played deck in the Master rank and has been crushing the tournament scene.

Overplayed: Jack Seraphine. Although the Mischievous Marai deck has been finding success in the tournament scene, when it comes to ranked play, it’s not the best choice to play. Jack Seraphine is in the top 10 most-played decks with a win rate of 48.64% across all ranks.

Underplayed: Samira Varus. Samira Varus can beat both Fizz Samira and Leona Samira, making it a good choice to take on the ranked ladder. The deck has a 54.05% win rate across all ranks and it’s slowly gaining popularity.

Hidden Gems:

Aatrox Reaver’s Row has been keeping a decent win rate on the ranked ladder. It features aggressive gameplay that transitions into a powerful late game with Aatrox and Darkin weapons.

This deck aims to establish a wide board of one-mana units to exert early pressure, with Reaver’s Row buffing these units and providing the Fearsome keyword, making it harder for opponents to block them. Additionally, The Darkin Bloodletter, as well as the Darkinthrall, a one-mana cost unit, synergize with Reaver’s Row to create a formidable early-game presence. In case the game extends to the late phase, a leveled Aatrox, Xoolani, and Naganeka of Zuretta, all possessing the Overwhelm keyword, can serve as late-game win conditions.

Balance Watch: Karma + Coin and All Out!. I’ve talked in the previous Meta Report about Karma Sett’s strength, mostly the overwhelming mana the deck is capable to generate with Karma + Coin combo. It allows for too many plays in just one turn, leaving the players facing Karma Sett unable to retaliate.

As for All Out! the +2|+2 buff, especially in the early game, can be extremely daunting and difficult to deal with for most of the deck. Lowering the health All Out! provides to +2|+1 should tone down Fizz Samira’s early pressure while keeping the deck powerful overall.

Most Popular Archetypes

Ashe LeBlanc is barely holding on to the title of the “most-played deck” across all ranks. In the Master rank, it has already been dethroned by Fizz Samira, and will most likely lose its spot across all ranks in the upcoming days. Good Matchups: Gwen Quinn, Vayne Aatrox, Illaoi Jarvan IV

Bad Matchups: Fizz Samira, Jack Seraphine, Annie Caitlyn.
