LoR Meta Report – Patch 4.3 Week 2 – Best Ladder Decks

Meta Report Patch 4.3 week 2 showcases all the data you need to understand the meta and start your climb.

Runeterra Meta Report for Patch 4.3 Week 2 is here! Several new decks have ascended to the top of the meta while others have suffered a decrease in their play rates. The current week’s Meta Report includes a larger dataset than the previous week, allowing for a more precise representation of the meta, especially in the Master rank.

Let’s take a look at all the developments in the meta.

Sources: The data presented here are from Runeterra.AR and LLor, covering the period from April 4th to April 10th.

Most Successful Archetypes

Tier 1 (Fizz Samira, Karma Sett, Ashe LeBlanc, Samira Leona)

Notably, Ashe LeBlanc has earned a spot in Tier 1, holding the highest play rate on the ranked ladder. Samira Leona has maintained a solid performance and even outperformed the widely popular Fizz Samira archetype.

Tier 2 (Gwen Quinn, Vayne Aatrox, Garen Jarvan IV, Heimerdinger Jayce (SI), Kayn Aatrox, Malphite Taliyah, Maokai Nautilus, Caitlyn Jayce, Seraphine Jack, Annie Caitlyn, Swain Illaoi, Udyr Galio, Samira Riven Varus, Norra Veigar, Miss Fortune Quinn, Lissandra Taliyah, Jax Ornn, Ekko Jinx (SH), Akshan Varus, Pyke Rek’Sai, Heimerdinger Norra, Senna Veigar, Norra Veigar)

There is a lot of diversity in Tier 2 with new decks like Galio Udyr, Malphite Taliya, and Samira Riven Varus joining the top-played decks. The introduction of the Rotation format has enabled the comeback of many archetypes that had been overpowered by some of the previously dominant cards.

Meme Tier

The Mono Shurima archetype has witnessed a significant drop in play rate since Xerath‘s rotation. However, a few elite players on the ranked ladder continue to test Mono Shurima with Azir, Nasus, and Renekton.

This modified version of Mono Shurima adds Ascended’s Rise to the list to accelerate Nasus and Renekton’s level-up. Both Renekton and Nasus pose an immediate threat once they’re Ascended. When both Nasus and Renekton are Ascended, they pose a immediate threat, with Nasus targeting the Nexus directly through his Fearsome keyword and -3|0 ability, and Renekton dealing a substantial amount of Overwhelm damage, threatening to destroy the Nexus. Unfortunately, the archetype has been struggling on the ranked ladder, with a win rate of only 38%.

Underplayed and Overplayed Archetypes

In the chart below, I’ve plotted win rates versus play rates for 21 decks to demonstrate which archetypes can be seen as the ‘kings’ in the current meta, and which decks can be labeled as ‘overplayed’ or ‘underplayed’.

The Y-Axis represents the win rate whereas the X-Axis represents the play rate.

Meta Kings: Karma Sett and Samira Leona. While Karma Sett doesn’t hold the highest win rate, it is considered one of the best decks in the meta. It requires skill to pilot, but once mastered, it can beat unfavorable matchups. As for Samira Leona, it’s an aggressive deck that can quickly close out games before opponents can implement their strategies. It has one of the best matchup tables in the current meta.

Overplayed: Caitlyn Teemo. It’s not a good choice for players looking to climb the ranks, despite being in the top 15 most-played decks, it can barely hold a 45% win rate.

Underplayed: Samira Riven Varus. This deck barely made it into the top 22 decks of this week’s meta report. The archetype has one of the highest win rates among the top 22 decks, and taking a look at its matchup table, Samira Riven Varus seems like a solid choice for the ranked ladder.

Jarvan IV Illaoi created by Sorry • last updated 6 months ago

Illaoi Demacia isn’t a new concept; it used to be a popular deck when Illaoi was paired with Vayne. Currently, players are testing out the Illaoi Jarvan IV deck on the ranked ladder, which has a 55.79% win rate. This deck aims to grow the stats of the Tentacle to benefit Illaoi, enabling additional Nexus damage and the possibility of leveling up Illaoi. Cataclysm can also be utilized on Illaoi to deal more Nexus damage while accelerating her level-up condition. Additionally, The Sea’s Voice gives the Tentacle the Overwhelm keyword, turning it into an immediate late-game threat that cannot be ignored.

On turn 6/7, Jarvan IV enters the battlefield at burst speed, pulling away the strongest unit and paving the way for more of your units to strike the Nexus. If allowed to level up, he will make it challenging for the opponent to develop crucial units.

Balance Watch: Karma and Coin. A lot of players in the community have expressed their dissatisfaction playing against Karma Sett once turn 10 hits. Karma is an extremely powerful champion once she’s leveled up and can single-handedly shift the game in your favor. However, if she has access to extra mana, playing against her can become almost impossible. The double cast on Coin can refill Sett Karma’s mana completely, enabling them to expend more resources in a single turn and make it virtually impossible for the opponent to mount a comeback.

Place your Bets offers value advantage in enabling a formidable late-game Karma. With its unique combination of additional card draw and the provision of 4 Coin, it provides the resources to dominate the game.
