Meta Report Patch 3.21 week 3 Darkin Saga: World Ender expansion showcases all the data you need to understand the meta and start your climb.

The LoR meta report for week 3 of Patch 3.21 is here! New decks have joined the top 20, powerhouse decks continue to dominate the ladder, and aggressive decks are rising.

Let’s take a look at the developments in the meta!

Sources: The 237k matches of data from December 20 to December 26 are from LlorStat and Runeterra.AR.

Most Successful Archetypes

Tier 1 (Vayne Aatrox, Ezreal Seraphine (BC), Katarina Gwen, Draven Jinx, Lulu Jinx, Pirates (Miss Fortune Twisted Fate), Elise Gwen)

Gangplank Sejuani is pushed back into Tier 2. Aggressive decks are performing well on the ranked ladder, jumping up to Tier 1 this past week.

Tier 2 (Aatrox Kayn, Gangplank Sejuani, Annie Jhin, Twisted Fate Annie, Trundle Tryndamere (SI), Irelia Gwen, Heimerdinger Jayce (SI), Viktor Seraphine (PZ), Rumble Vayne, Zed Hecarim, Ekko Jinx (SH), Aatrox Kindred, Akshan Varus, Pyke Rek’Sai, Azir Xerath, Fizz Yuumi)

A diverse meta in Tier 2. Aggressive, midrange, and control decks are all holding up well.

Meme Tier

Leblanc Sion has shown up on the ranked ladder the past week. It tried to take advantage of The Black Flame landmark and Legion Marauder. Setting up stronger Marauders that will eventually be too difficult for the opponent to deal with.

It has not seen success. This list has a 28.19% win rate across all ranks.

Underplayed and Overplayed Archetypes

In the chart below, I’ve plotted win rates versus play rates for 21 decks to demonstrate which archetypes can be seen as the ‘kings’ in the current meta, and which decks can be labeled as ‘overplayed’ or ‘underplayed’.

The Y-Axis represents the win rate whereas the X-Axis represents the play rate.

Meta Kings: Aatrox Vayne. The Quinn version continues to outperform all the decks. It has the highest play rate and a win rate of around 57%.

Overplayed: Master Yi Ryze. The deck is in the top 15 most-played decks but can’t hold a 40% win rate. It’s not keeping up with the current meta.

Underplayed: Pirates (Miss Fortune Twisted Fate). The aggressive deck has had a high win rate for over a week, and taking a look at the matchup table, it seems to hold up well against most of the meta decks.

Fizz Yuumi created by Sorry • last updated 5 months ago

Yuumi Fizz showed up in the top 25 most-played decks. The archetype has a 52.23% win rate across all ranks.

The deck relies on Fizz as the main win condition. You want to buff up his stats with cards like Yuumi, Here to Help, and Bellows Breath and then use his Elusive keyword to deal direct Nexus damage.

The deck can still set up a win condition without Fizz. You can buff up Unscarred Reaver or Assistance Librarian and give them elusive with Shell Game.

Balance Watch: Aatrox and Back Ally Bar. Both cards have been extremely popular and too powerful. Aatrox’s healing and regeneration can be daunting and difficult for many archetypes to deal with.

On the other hand, Back Ally Bar lays the groundwork for powerful future turns and has proven to be overpowering. Seraphine Ezreal (BC) is one of the best decks at the moment because of Back Ally Bar, which enables a strong late game and provides value.

Most Popular Archetypes

Week 3’s most popular deck is still Aatrox Vayne Quinn. It’s the best in the meta and has a 57.46% win rate across all ranks.

Aatrox Vayne does well against all the decks in the meta, only struggling against Rumble Vayne.

Ezreal Seraphine (BC) is still the best-performing Seraphine version out there. The Bandle City version is the second most played deck and has a 53.04% win rate across all ranks.

It has a bad matchup against Vayne Aatrox but outside of that, the deck does generally well against the rest of the meta field.

Katarina Gwen created by Sorry • last updated 4 months ago

Gwen Katarina’s performance keeps getting better! The deck has a 56.92% win rate across all ranks and a 55.94% win rate in Master rank. The deck is now in the top 3 most-played decks.

Kayn Aatrox has lost a lot of its popularity compared to week 1 of Patch 3.21. Remarkably, the deck still holds a good win rate even after the nerfs: 53.74% across all ranks.

Zed Hecarim appears to have a lot of fans. The archetype is now among the top five most popular decks, but with win rates of 49.53% across all ranks and 48.9% in Master rank.

The win rate is disappointing and not enough for a serious ladder climb.

Draven Jinx created by Sorry • last updated 7 months ago

Both discard decks, Draven Jinx and Lulu Jinx, are doing well on the ranked ladder. Jinx Lulu has a higher win rate (57.08%) than Draven Jinx (55.37%). However, Draven Jinx has a higher play rate (1.59%) than Lulu Jinx (1.04%).

Sejuani Gangplank created by Sorry • last updated 5 months ago

Gangplank Sejuani’s win rate drops, knocking it out of Tier 1. The deck has a win rate of 53.04% across all ranks and a win rate of 51.61% in master rank.

Both aggressive burn decks, Miss Fortune Twisted Fate and Elise Gwen, have been putting up good win rates.

The two decks have a 60% overall win rate and a 59% win rate in master rank.

Pirates has a slightly higher play rate than Elise Gwen.

Lurk is in the top 10 most-played decks, and its win rate hovers around 50%.

The deck struggles against many popular decks on the ranked ladder, like Ezreal Seraphine (BC) and Gwen Katarina.

Annie Jhin has the worst stats compared to the rest of the aggressive decks in the top 20 popular decks.

It has a win rate of 52.59% across all ranks and a win rate of 50.44% in master rank.

Aatrox Kindred is on the rise! The deck keeps gaining popularity, landing it in the top 15 most-played decks.

The archetype has a 52.29% win rate across all ranks, which is still not as good as the more popular Vayne Aatrox.

Seraphine Victor Ryze has seen more play this past week but still has a 48% win rate across all ranks.

Irelia Gwen has a 50.61% win rate across all ranks. The Hallowed-oriented deck is in the top 20 most-played decks.

Deep is underperforming. The old archetype fails to hold a 50% win rate. It has a win rate of 49.45% across all ranks and a win rate of 48.56% in master rank.

Mono Shurima is struggling in the meta. It has a win rate of 46.72% across all ranks, and it drops to 45.36% in master rank.

Closing Words

Nothing drastic has changed in the meta. Aggressive decks seem to be on the rise but top-tier decks like Aatrox Vayne, Seraphine Ezreal (BC), and Gwen Katarina are still holding their spots as kings of the meta.

This is it for this week’s Meta Report. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and happy holidays, I’ll see you next year!
